The refresh of this lobby within a historic building, won Emotive Architecture second place for HistoricDesign in the ASID Maryland Design Competition in 2015. We were tasked to re-activate the lobby of this building and bring it back to its former splendor.
Our main focus was on transforming the space to create an interactive living environment that enriches the end user's experience using aesthetics and function while supporting their activities. We appreciate that most residents and visitors want to experience a welcoming atmosphere and feel relaxed, as they transition to their private spaces. We achieved this through the use of regal colors, new furniture arrangements and curated art to provide residents with a more inviting and engaging experience.
