How Is Experience Architecture Used?
Experience architecture is not what most people think of when they hear the term architecture. Actually, experience architecture doesn’t even involve buildings. Experience architecture is a process where a developer or an experience architect works to create an online experience geared toward how people will use and experience it.
This could be for the construction of a company website, an online store, and so much more. Experience architecture is used to help those that are visiting the site truly experience it and see what the company has to offer. This is a highly beneficial method that helps companies make a big difference in how their customers interact with their website and, therefore, with their company.
What Does an Experience Architect Do?
An experience architect helps develop systems and make the most of the experience of the user when they do end up visiting a site. They collect data, take surveys, conduct interviews and research to find out what will work best for users and what they want to do when they visit your site.
They then take that data and use it to create prototypes, wireframes, and even sitemaps so that the site can be designed with the experience of the user in mind. Instead of a company just making a site and hoping it works, this method allows the user to help guide the development and allows the desired outcome to help really direct where the site goes and where the development goes.
This is a fantastic method for companies to use as it does help to make the user experience a bit more important and allows users to give their input; in this way, the users are a driving factor in the way that the site is constructed. We have all been to a website that was beautiful or that was made well, but that really did not work well for us or did not work the way that we wanted it to after we got there. An experience architect’s method allows you to have more of a say in the ultimate design of various website components.
